JH Media Group is accepting applications from students who are interested in the new writing internship for Soigné. This internship allows students to build their portfolios with topics about which they are passionate.
The ideal intern is one that can look at trends and traditions critically and offer unique viewpoints in the cultural conversation. This person is a self-starter but also takes direction.
Internships are flexible to allow fellows to do this alongside their school obligations. Each internship would last the duration of the semester cycle. The position is remote with eastern time zone hours.
• Writing a range of pieces on fashion & culture (fashion, beauty, grooming, style, pop culture, film, tv, streaming, art, and architecture)
• Promoting your articles to a relevant audience via social media
• Build journalism and writing experience
• Build your portfolio by having your own articles published and promoted to thousands of readers
• Build Search Engine Optimization experience and learn how to optimize articles for SEO
• Build social media marketing experience and learn how to optimize articles for social media networks
English/Writing/Communications/Journalism majors are preferred but all majors are encouraged to apply.
• be very interested in writing and editing
• be willing to write 2-5 articles per week, each article being at least 500 words
• be willing to write 1 long-form article at least 700 words in length
• be able to submit all assigned work on time each week
WRITING SAMPLE: Please submit an essay (up to 400 words) on ONE of the subjects below, indicating the topic chosen at the top of your essay.
• A memorable moment in your life
• Cultural Analysis
• Ideological explanation for a cultural commodity (movie, tv show, work of art, work of architecture, song/album, fashion, literature)
You may upload up to 5 work samples as Google Documents. Work submitted in any other format will not be accepted or reviewed.
